Instagram transcript review

How to compare two Instagram transcript drafts

A second pass can fix a missed word, but it can also sound more confident while being wrong. Compare drafts against the same audio window, not against each other.

Lock the source and settings

Keep the original video unchanged and record the language setting, model pass, and export time for each draft. If one pass uses a different audio cut, you are comparing two inputs rather than two transcripts.

Align by time before wording

Put both drafts into a table with start time, end time, and text. Match entries that overlap the same spoken phrase, even when one draft splits it into two lines. Time alignment reveals whether a disagreement is a real word difference or just different segmentation.

Replay only the disagreements

Listen to each disputed window without looking at either draft, then write what you hear. Replay it with the volume lowered slightly and again with the surrounding sentence. Names, numbers, and short endings deserve a third pass because a fluent sentence can hide a small error.

Choose evidence over fluency

Export a reviewable result

Use TXT for the comparison notes and SRT or VTT for timed checking. A reliable instagram transcript should let another person jump to the exact audio behind a disputed word.
