Instagram transcript workflow

How to make an Instagram transcript on a slow laptop

On a slow laptop, reduce the work the browser must hold at once: use a short local clip, close heavy tabs, transcribe in small passes, and save the result before changing windows.

Start with the smallest useful clip

Trim the Reel to the section you need before starting an instagram transcript. Audio buffers, decoded video frames, and transcript text all compete for memory. If you need the whole video, work through numbered sections and keep a time range beside each result.

Prepare the browser

  1. Close video, design, and spreadsheet tabs.
  2. Keep the transcription page and local video in separate tabs.
  3. Pause unnecessary downloads and sync.
  4. Keep the laptop plugged in.

Do not repeatedly refresh: a refresh can discard an in-progress browser result.

Transcribe in short passes

Split a long Reel into sections with two or three seconds of overlap. Let one section finish before opening another, and save or copy completed text before continuing.

Review quality efficiently

Review names, numbers, handles, product terms, and phrases under music first. Replay only those spans. Keep on-screen text separate from speech and mark uncertain words instead of guessing.
