Answer first
If an Instagram transcript is in the wrong language, choose the spoken language manually and transcribe the original local file again. If the video switches languages, handle the dominant language first and review the switch separately instead of trusting one detection result for the whole clip.
Why language detection goes wrong
- The clip is short, so there is not enough speech for a confident guess.
- Music, names, or background voices dominate the audio.
- The speaker code-switches between two languages.
- The selected file is a noisy screen recording.
A clean correction workflow
- Confirm the language from a clear sentence near the start.
- Select that language manually instead of auto-detect.
- Use the original export or the clearest authorized local copy.
- Keep timestamps so you can find language changes.
- Review names and borrowed words after the rerun.
For mixed-language Reels
Do not silently translate a transcript and call it a verbatim record. Keep the spoken wording, mark the language switch, and create a separate translation when your audience needs one. That preserves what was actually said.
